In order to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the place I work (DeVry University) is having a battle of the bands. I’m not sure how DeVry and music are interconnected, but this is what is happening. If you live in the Bay Area and want to win a $500 first prize, enter your band. There are even second, third, fourth and fifth place cash prizes. It’s on April 22nd, but the deadline to register is April 12th. I’ve got links to the flyer for the contest which they’re calling “Bring On Da Music.” I’m not sure how I feel about the title, but I am only one person. There is also a link to the application. They are looking for garage bands, or singer/songwriters, or rappers or anyone with musical talent basically. And they’re giving away $1000 in cash prizes.
